Nigerian Diplomat Who Fought On the Streets Of Vienna, Hospitalized – Nigerian Embassy

Nigerian Head of Mission, Ambassador Abel Ayoko

In our ongoing investigation of the shame meted on the name Nigeria by a Nigerian diplomat in Austria who fought on the streets of Vienna, the Nigerian Embassy in Vienna, Austria has made an official statement.

In a letter sent to Global Reporters by the Social Secretary of the Mission, Andrea Hönigsberger, the embassy acknowledged our letter of inquiry but did not oblige to the request of Mrs. Abimbola Raji speaking to our reporters.
The letter stated that diplomats, especially “Nigerian diplomats are not allowed to be interviewed by the press” without the permission of the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“No doubt, the brutal attack by Mr. Derito was premeditated leading to severe bodily harm on Mrs. Raji who is currently still being hospitalized. As you mentioned in your email, the Austrian police is still investigating the matter,” the letter stated further.
Our investigation reports that will be in parts will be made public soon – we are also negotiating and trying to see the possibility of even bringing the footage of the street fight to our audience.
