Minister of state for works , Prince Adeyeye Says Online journalism is the way to the future

The Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has described online journalism as the future of the profession and commended Nigerian editors who have taken the bull by the horn by becoming online media entrepreneurs.

“This is a welcome development,” the minister said. “Online journalism is the way to the future,” he added.
An accomplished journalist himself, Prince Adeyeye was speaking this evening while hosting members of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), who visited him in his office at the Ministry of Works Headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja.
He lamented the activities of those he described as “Boko Haram journalists . . . who hit and run,” expressing the hope that the entry of true journalism professionals like the GOCOP members would help to sanitise the emerging sector.
Earlier in his remarks, GOCOP President, Mr. Malachy Agbo, had explained the reason for the formation of GOCOP, saying that the intervention of tested journalism professionals became necessary so as to rescue online journalism from the hands of quacks.
