More than 200 media professionals
arrived in Owerri on Friday for the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Media Merit Award
(NMMA).
The award, described as the biggest
media event in Africa, is scheduled to take place at the International
Convention Centre, Owerri, from Nov. 7 to Nov. 9.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
reports that as part of their engagements, the visitors are expected to take a
tour of some key projects executed by Gov. Rochas Okorocha.
Okorocha also invited government
functionaries, parliamentarians, workers, traditional rulers, students,
politicians, and all patriotic citizens of the state to witness the events.
It will be recalled that the state
recently hosted the Nigerian Bar Association, the Nigerian Guild of Editors,
Judges Conference and the APC Governors Forum. (NAN)
