FAAN denies Buhari landing permit in Makurdi

There was an uproar at the Makurdi Airport on Wednesday after the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), denied the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Major General Muhammad Buhari (rtd) opportunity to land.

Daily Sun gathered that party members who had thronged the airport early in the day to receive Buhari were disappointed after they had waited endlessly for his arrival only to be told later that he was not granted landing permit.
The state chairman of APC in the state, Comrade Abba Yaro who later briefed newsmen on the development in Makurdi, said that the authority of the Airport denied the presidential candidate landing permit without any reason.
“We were expecting one of our presidential aspirants, Major-General Muhammad Buhari (rtd) today (yesterday) to visit Benue state but to our dismay the authority of the airport which had granted him land permit this (Wednesday) morning has denied him land permit with no reason given”.
Yaro said the purpose of Buhari’s visit to Benue was to meet and consult with the party’s delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries coming up on 10th of December, this year.
Efforts to get the reaction of the authority of Makurdi airport failed at the time of filing this report as no one was ready to speak on the issue when our correspondent sought their view.
