The Anglican Bishop of Adamawa state and the newly elected vice chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa state chapter, Bishop Marcus Ibrahim Anfani lamented how the dreaded Boko Haram sects have slowed down the growth of the church in the Northern part of Nigeria, where most of the displaced persons are coming from the communities that are Christians-dominated.
According to Marcus the recent attacks have turned few churches as houses harboring the Boko Haram insurgents while so many worship centers were set blazed. Anglican Communion lost about 7 churches to the senseless work of the group.
Anfani decried the way government officials have been turning a deaf ear to the cry of the people especially the Christendom who are the most and badly affected in all the attacks bedeviling the entire northern states, calling all Christian to be security conscious and have Divine wisdom in any decision one intends to take.
Let’s Christian begin to protect themselves and be more security conscious, because the Government are not helping and protecting us. “He said
Bishop Ibrahim thanked God for the success of the CAN elections held in Adamawa state despite how the enemy of the church had wanted to cause the church to fall in to a trap of confusion, delay in the electioneering process of the CAN itself, also to allow the devil to grow malice and enmity among the sacred body of Christ.
“Let me appreciate God that all things work together for good and delay is not denial despite the long timing in waiting for the election in the CAN in Adamawa state by postponing the elections dates”.
The Man of God reminded the Christian to be more prayerful, be more united and remain security alert in all the time in this ends times.
