Police Track Down Fleeing Wife For Allegedly Peeling Off Hubby's Flesh With Acid Bath In Anambra

                                     

The police in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State yesterday tracked the fleeing wife of an Nkpor based businessman (names withheld) who allegedly bathed her husband with raw acid.

The incident, according to sources, occurred in the early morning of the fateful day when the man was about to go for the day’s business.

The source stated that the suspect had planned the action for the previous night but because the victim had reportedly shut his door while going to bed, though unknowingly, the suspect postponed her action till the next morning when she targeted him, poured the acid on him and fled to avoid being arrested by sympathizers.

It was gathered that as the suspect fled, some sympathizers who heard the victim's shouts, quickly rushed him to New Major hospital, Ogidi where he is still being placed on an intensive care as his eye balls were mostly affected by the acid burns
.

As at the time of filing this report yesterday, it was not immediately ascertained what led her to carrying out the act, but their close neighbours said they suspected that it might not be unconnected with the family rivalry and cat and mouse life which the duo have been living for some time now.

Efforts  by newsmen to contact the Medical director, Dr. Boniface Ossai proved abortive as his phone rang many times without his response..

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO at Ogidi, Mr. Musa who simply confirmed the arrest of the suspect by the police,.said investigations on the matter was ongoing, adding that the act was barbaric.
