It was pageantry as thousands of people comprising youths, men and women were seen in different groups, costumed and dancing to various tunes of drums, going from one place to the other in the community while some were seen carrying placards which read; Ngige is gone, Ngige’s case rest in peace, Obiano has punch Ngige heavily among other expressions showing how Willie Obiano defeated senator Chris Ngige at the supreme court.

Meanwhile, the former governorship aspirant in Anambra State Hon. Chinedu Idigo who spoke to news men in his residents in Aguleri praised the supreme court judges for delivering a courageous and land mark judgment devoid of bias adding that the judiciary being the last hope of common people has demonstrated courage in the delivery of justice which he said will continue to earn her the trust and confidence of Nigerians.
“The judiciary has done well in its previous judgment particularly on this case between Chris Ngige and Willie Obiano. Before now, I did not bother nor felt panicky over the case because I know the judges will not give slanting Verdict. This judgment will now boost Obiano’s resolve to serve Anambrarians selflessly and courageously. I urge all the litigants to join hands with the governor to take the state to a higher level and see Obiano as their brother” he said.
Speaking to journalists in his office, Anambra East local government Chairman Hon. Hilary Udanoh has hailed the Supreme Court judgment saying that it was the expectation of the people that prevailed. He pointed out that the judgment would be a lubricant to the progressive wheel of the governor who he said is always poised and well positioned to give the state a better face- life. He called upon other litigants to close rank with the governor to build a better Anambra.
Also expressing his joy, former Chairmanship aspirant in Anambra East Hon. Chinedu Nnatuanya hailed the judgment, describing it as remarkable and watershed.
“This judgment was remarkable and will remain watershed in the history of Nigeria. We are very happy that our own brother who was voted by Ndi Anambra during the 2013 governorship election in the state has won the case in the apex court in the land. The judiciary has shown that it is incorruptible. Willie Obiano’s victory is a victory to the people and democracy. He can now stay focused and give Ndi Anambra the qualitative leadership. He is a man who has human face. What he has done already in the state speak big volume of how Anambra will be in the next three years. I therefore use this medium to urge senator Chris Ngige and others to sheathe their sword in the interest of the people and join hands with governor Willie Obiano to take the state to a vantage position” he appealed.
