Ugochukwu Obi has said he has attracted over 20 projects directly affecting the
lives of his constituents to his constituency since he assumed office in the 5th
Assembly in 2011.
He said he has empowered 30 constituents who were victims of
fire disaster at Afor Odor Nanka and has facilitated and attracted strategic
roads in his constituency including that of Nanka to Isuofia and Umuona road reports odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com exclusively.
Obi who is the Chairman House Committee on Rules
and Business Committee in the House said he is one of those who attracted the construction of one
the longest roads Amansea- Ndiukwuenu-Awa- and Ufuma road with a spur from Ndiukuwenu-Okpeze-Amaetiti
to Awgbu by Governor Peter Obi at the tune of N10 billion contract sum.
Obi spoke to odogwu’s blog shortly after a town hall
meeting organized by the JPDC Awka in collaboration with British Broadcasting
Corporation , BBC at the Orumba North local government Headquarters Ajalli
known as ‘Talk your own make Nigeria better’’.
He emphasized that his projects have entered almost
all the 16 communities in Orumba North and about three communities remaining is
already ongoing and will soon be completed , restating that history would judge him as the best
representative Orumba North has had so far.
‘’And above specific projects each community wanted
and projects that are my constituency projects there are other I facilitated
either in roads construction or electricity project. I have my constituency project in every community
in Orumba North and each got a minimum of
two Transformers. And I know some communities got more than two even up to four
transformers. I would now focus more attention on health facilities starting
with appealing to the Executive for the fencing of Orumba North General
Hospital and building of a befitting health center at Amaetiti to give them a
sense of belonging, stated Hon Obi , Deputy Chairman House Committee on Public
Affairs.
He appealed to his constituents to always avail him
of information of developments in his constituency to enable him represent them
better adding that his number is always open as well as his constituency office
and his office and home for anybody with issues or ways to represent the
constituency better to come forward for suggestion and interaction.
Hon Obi further enumerated some of his projects to
include renovation of Central Library Ajalli, Building of Computer Center at
Omogho, empowering of 30 constituents who were victims of fire disaster at Afor
Odor Nanka and extension of low tension wires to Ndiokpaleke community to completion to mention but a few from
the 20 constituency projects he constructed from his constituency fund.
He said he has sponsored and co-sponsored about 19
motions already passed into law by the 5th Anambra Assembly as well
as sponsored and co-sponsored 12 Bills and laws, assuring his constituents that
he would re-dedicate himself for greater service to them but appealed for their
continued support.
President General Ndiokpalaeke , Hon Ernest
Elochukwu Igbanugo in an interview confirmed the claims of Hon Romanus Obi and assured the
constituents would continue to support him to actualize his dream for
qualitative and quantitative representation of Orumba North people in the state
Assembly.
He informed that his own approach was to ask the
town union people via a letter the project the need or the project he wants to
attract and whether that was what they needed or something else before
embarking on the project once he receives their letter of confirmation on the
project hence his projects are people oriented.
