The battle
line may have been drawn between the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, and
the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, over her purported resignation as a
permanent secretary in the state civil service.
Dame Patience Jonathan, who is
popularly referred to as ‘Super Perm Sec’ was appointed in July 2012 by the
Dickson administration, five months after his inauguration.
It was a move that drew criticism
across the state and the country, as the governor was accused of overstepping
his moral bounds to appoint Patience Jonathan as one of the 17 new permanent
secretaries in the state.
A source told our correspondent that
the 57-yearold Patience Jonathan left the service voluntarily, while other
sources claimed she resigned due to a shouting match between her and the
governor over issues bordering on the politics of the state
