APGA Resurrects In Imo State As Obiano, Umeh , Others Take Campaign To Imo

Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and the national Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) are making rescue efforts to save APGA from collapsing and it appears it is paying off, reports odogwuemekaodogwu.com.
They were there to campaign for Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho and the train to Imo state weekend for campaign with the mammoth crowd was unprecedented. Anambra House Speaker , Chinwe Nwaebili and her members were there.
They called on Ndi Imo to stand up to the challenge and commence preparations needed to return to their roots which is APGA.
The APGA Sensitization Rally held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Grasshoppers Stadium, Owerri was bomb to say the least.
Obiano in a short speech titled Message of Hope, urged the good people of Imo State to defend their Igbo identity by voting APGA in 2015 General Elections even though they are voting President Jonathan for presidency while other positions would be APGA.

Chief Martin Agbaso, erstwhile APGA face in Imo state  now in People’s Democratic Party, PDP, a party he vowed not to belong to again in his life.

APGA stakeholders from Owerri Federal Constituency, comprising Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West, who paid a solidarity visit to Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho over the weekend at his Owerri residence maintained that Agbaso would end up moving to PDP as an ‘orphan’ hence no single member has indicated interest to move along with him.

The group led by Hon. Dan Ikpeazu and Hon. Victor Mere, representing Owerri North and Owerri Municipal State Constituencies respectively in Imo State House of Assembly, pledged their unalloyed loyalty and commitment to work towards actualizing the governorship ambition of Capt. Iheanacho whom they described as APGA’s beautiful bride in Imo state.
Hon. Ikpeazu in his speech insisted that the exit of one man could not in any manner affect the fortune of APGA as the party has now grown in strength with Imolites fully mobilized to support and vote massively for the party in the forthcoming 2015 elections.
Also in their separate speeches, Hon. Mere representing Owerri Municipal and Hon Ann Dozie, a former commissioner of Women Affairs and Owerri North Constituency aspirant, extolled the virtues of Capt. Iheanacho, believing that his towering and outstanding profile as a decent, matured, experienced, humbled, corruption-free and credible politician and team player would ultimately transform to victory for APGA at all levels in 2015.
They also passed implicit vote of confidence on the leadership of Sir Victor Umeh and Barr. Peter Ezeobi, the national and state chairmen of the party as well as other members of the national and state working committees of the party for bringing to bear an uncommon leadership acumen that has largely repositioned APGA in Imo state.
Responding, Capt. Iheanacho, who was visibly elated on the unity and peace that have visibly returned to the party in Owerri Federal constituency, described the development as divine intervention and manifestation of God’s wish.
“I am happy today that an opportunity has called for everyone of us to prove our loyalty to APGA. Most importantly peace, unity and understanding have equally returned naturally in our party. That is the reason why we are able to speak in one voice that the exit of one man cannot deter other members from remaining focused and committed to actualizing the collective APGA agenda, which includes reclaiming the Douglas House and winning legislative offices in 2015. Let me reassure all of us that nobody will lose his position in the party except where changes become obviously inevitable.
“Again, no aspirant has been adopted by anybody, rather a level playing ground shall be provided to all aspirants for the right candidates to emerge. We are desirous of candidates that will win elections for APGA and that informed the reason why the party has decided to apply fairness in nominating its candidates for 2015 elections.” he said.
