Anambra East Council Boss Presents N2.4 Billion Budget Estimate To Councilors

Anambra east local government area chairman Hon. Hilary O. Udanoh (Igwe Spain) has presented 2.4 billion naira as the 2014 estimate to the council legislature .

The total recurrent expenditure is N632, 000,000 while estimated capital expenditure is N825, 100 000.

Udanoh who came into the legislative chamber in company of the secretary to the Local Government (SLG) Chief Mike Okoye, the supervisors and his aides said the aim of the estimate was to improve the living standard of the people in the area and provide a financial plan of action.

He stated that he deemed it necessary to present the 2014 estimate to the legislature in order to provide a mechanism for ensuring that adequate control are maintained over expenditure and revenue and to establish the financial position of the local government.

Odogwu Media reports that the council boss who noted that he was the first local government chairman in Anambra state to present the 2014 estimate to the legislature stressed that through the estimate, Anambra East will witness wealth creation, employment creation, empowerment of women, youths and the less privileged, promotion of hygiene and provision of basic infrastructure.

While applauding the councilors for their collaborative spirit, the chairman promised to ensure continued cordial relationships with them and strive to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaker Anambra East Local Government, Hon. Hilary Mmaduka Udu praised the chairman for presenting the 2014 estimate before the house saying that it will provide the financial stand of the council as well as establish a legal authority for incurring expenditure pointing out that the estimate will go a long way in giving the council the needed objectives.

He said that they will study the estimate before ratifying it assuring that the councilors will do everything within their legislative powers to give the estimate the necessary legal backing. He commended the chairman for his achievements in the area and promised to give the chairman all the support in order to move Anambra East forward.
