In a timetable entitled: “APGA
schedule of activities for primary election 2014” signed by the National Secretary,
Alhaji Sani Shinkafi, the party pegged the nomination and expression of intent
forms for Senate and House of Representatives at N3.5million and N2.5 million
respectively.
The party also announced that the
purchase and return of Expression of Interest Forms and Nomination Forms must
hold between October 27 and November 4, 2014 and pegged the forms for state
House of Assembly at N1.2million.
Women aspirants for all the
positions are however, asked to pay 50 per cent of the nomination fees.
The party said: “Women aspirants
shall pay only 50 per cent of the fees for the Nomination Forms stipulated
above.”
It explained that “State Assembly
and National Assembly Expression of Interest Forms and Nomination Forms are
obtainable at the state secretariats of the party.
“Governorship Expression of Interest
Forms and Nomination Forms are obtainable at the national secretariat of the
party, Abuja.
The party further pronounced “it
has the right and discretion to issue Expression of Interest and Nomination
Forms at any time before the scheduled primaries.”
On dates for the screening of
aspirants and commencement of primaries, the party fixed December 4 for the
nomination of governorship candidates. For the senate, House of Representatives
and state assemblies, the party said that primaries for the positions would
hold on November 28, 24 and 18.
The timetable read: “Ward congresses
for the election of 3 ad-hoc delegates will come up on November 12, 2014; State
House of Assembly primaries -November 18, 2014; House of Representatives
primaries -November 24, 2014; Senate primaries – November 28, 2014;
Governorship primaries – December 4 2014.”
The party submitted that the
screening of aspirants and determination of appeals will come up between
November 7 and 22. According to the timetable “State House of Assembly
screening at state secretariats of the party would come up between November 7
and 8 .”
