2014 International Workshop on Train The Trainers and Students on Mathematics Olympiad at the NMC, Abuja


 The National Mathematical Centre, (NMC) Abuja, Nigeria under the auspices of the African Mathematical Union  organizes the 2014 International Workshop on Train The Trainers and Students on Mathematics Olympiad (IWOTTASMO 2014).

The National Mathematical Centre, Abuja on the 26th of November welcomed participants from all over the world for the International Workshop on "Train the Trainers and Students on Mathematics Olympiad". The opening ceremony was headed by the Director General and Chief Executive of the Centre, Professor Adewale Roland Tunde Solarin and the Deputy Director, Prof. Peter Onumanyi (FMAN). The workshop which is scheduled to last for 5 days is themed at training the trainers and the students on Mathematics Olympiad.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country. The first IMO was held in 1959 in Romania, with 7 countries participating. It has gradually expanded to over 100 countries from 5 continents. The IMO Advisory Board ensures that the competition takes place each year and that each host country observes the regulations and traditions of the IMO.
