The Deputy Governor of Kebbi, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, on Wednesday said two pilgrims from the state died during the just concluded pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
Aliyu, also the leader of the state pilgrims (Amir-Hajj), said this in Birnin Kebbi while briefing newsmen on the exercise.
Aliyu identified the deceased as Alhaji Sabi Kamba, 72, and Alhaji Bawa Bagudo, 69.
He said the pilgrims died while receiving treatment in a Saudi Hospital.
He said the deceased had been buried in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
He said the exercise witnessed minor challenges but were tackled by the health committee and Saudi Arabian medical personnel.
Aliyu said no negative incident was recorded against any pilgrim from the state and commended them for their decency and maturity while at the Holy land.
He said the pilgrims were effectively transported right from the commencement of the Hajj and called on them to live by example.
