Wife Accuses Husband Of Adultery, Seeks Dissolution Of 10-Year-Old Marriage

                          

A housewife, Ayo Bamisaye has approached an Ikole Customary Court in Ekiti, seeking dissolution of her 10-year-old marriage over alleged extra marital affairs by her husband.

In a suit she filed on Sept 6, Bamisaye prayed the court to terminate the union with Mr Goke Bamisaye on the grounds of adultery, brutality and lack of care for her and her only child.

In her testimony before the court on Wednesday, the plaintiff alleged that her husband engaged in extra marital affairs with other women.

She stated that the engagement of her husband in the act made him to spend his savings on his lovers, and thereby failed in his domestic responsibility.

“He punches me at any slightest mistake and treated me and my child as if we were slaves.“ she said.

The plaintiff prayed the court to compel his husband to pay her N10, 000 as monthly allowance for the upkeep of their child.

In his defence, Bamisaye denied all the allegations leveled against him, but told the court that his wife was a woman of `easy virtue.’

According to him, any man could easily sleep with her anywhere, anytime and any day.

He supported the dissolution of the union, but pleaded that he could only afford N2,000 food allowance, as she has other two wives to cater for.

The court adjourned the case to Oct. 6 for judgment.
