Supreme Court Judgment: Bishop Ezeokafor Congratulates Obiano; Condoles With Victims of Collapsed Synagogue Church Building



       
The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has congratulated Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state over his recent victory at the Supreme Court and said the judgment will now spur him to concentrate in his onerous task of making the state a safe haven for local and foreign investors. He urged Obiano to carry on with his all inclusive kind of government.


Bishop Ezeokafor who stated this at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, this evening said the decisions of the election tribunal and the court of Appeal, Enugu, that Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano won the last November 2013, governorship election has been upheld.

He expressed delight over the outcome of the judgment and called on all contending parties to sheathe their swords and as well join the Governor in moving the state forward adding that a tree can never make a forest.
The man of God, urged the Governor not to rest on his oars and enjoined Ndi Anambra irrespective of their party affiliations to support Governor Willie Obiano’s led administration, who he described as development conscious Governor.
It will be recalled that Supreme Court on Monday 22nd Sept, 2014, in three separate judgments read by Justices Benyang Akaahs; Olukayode Ariwoola and John Okoro, dismissed the appeals by the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Chris Ngige; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Comrade Tony Nwoye.
Meanwhile, the Bishop has condoled with the victims of collapsed synagogue Church building and prayed for the quick repose of their souls and also entreats God to give the victims’ families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
