Prince Ossy Ezenwa, Former SSG Anambra Battles 7 Aspirants In PDP Primary ; As Well Ngige, Umeh , Others At Anambra Central Seat

          

The former secretary to the Anambra State Government, SSG, (1999-2003) under former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Prince Victor Ossy Ezenwa has declared his intention to vie for the Anambra Central Senatorial race on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Seven aspirants are already lined up in the PDP including Mrs Christy Okoye, Senator Annie Okonkwo, Dr Obiorah Okonkwo, Mr. Sylvester Okonkwo, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife and Mr. Kodilichukwu Okelekwe.

Making his intentions known during a consultations meeting with his constituents and journalists at Abagana today, Ezenwa, also a former chairman of Njikoka local government area, told the stakeholders at his country home that his decision to join the race was a collective decision of the constituents.

He said he was very aware of other heavyweights in the race already, but that the odds favored him. His entry into the race, according to him now brings the number of people jostling the position in the zone on the platform of PDP to about seven.

Acknowledging not to underrate anyone, he saw the forthcoming race to be a straight fight with the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) chief Victor Umeh and the incumbent Senator Chris Ngige.

He said he has gathered a rich political and administrative experience beginning with his appointment as Special assistant to late Governor Christian Onoh in 1983 and rising to become the SSG under Dr Mbadinuju, he felt the need to serve the people at the National Assembly.

He bemoaned the high rate of unemployment in the state which according to him appeared not to have caught the fancy of others presently, said that if elected into the senate, he would pursue the issue of unemployment in the zone and the need for politicians to play the game by the rules.

He therefore urged for a level play field for all aspirants, insisting that despite his zeal to serve, "I am not desperate and would willingly support anyone who defeats me at the primary...", Ezenwa noted.
