How Flood Rendered Isu-Aniocha Community In Awka North Helpless






 
Residents of Umueze village in Isu-Aniocha , Awka-North local govt area of Anambra state are now counting their loses following a heavy down our that submerged several houses and other valuable property by the flood, reports odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com. It was a dangerous flood.

The flood also pulled down walls and destroyed several vehicles parked in various compounds and as well destroyed many household property.

Some if the victims while calling for govt assistance blamed the incident on poor channelization of flood water by the contractor handling the road project in the area.

Victims were seen with their family members outside looking confused and helpless while sympathizers assist in scooping flood from their rooms.

Two victims Mr Nicholas Ossai and Bethran Chukwuma blamed the flood on poor channelization of erosion from a neighbouring community.

Mr Charles Okonkwo, a staff of a commercial Bank managed to sleep in his car because according to him. He was helpless seeing his flat filled with flood.
Mr Okonkwo blamed the incident on poor drainage system constructed by the firm handling the road project in the area.

Mr Anthony Okonkwo an owner if an upstairs that saved many families from the flood called govt  attention to the poor road construction going on in Isu-Aniocha.
