Ebonyi Man Beheads Woman, Throws Body Into Stream

         

Ebonyi State Police Command on Thursday paraded a 32-year-old man, Chinedu Nweke, for allegedly beheading a middle aged woman, Mrs Philomena Nwega, 45, from Amuda in Ezza North Local government area of the state.

The suspect who admitted killing the woman was paraded with the head of the woman which he concealed inside a polythene bag.
The Commissioner of police, Maigari Dikko, revealed that the suspect waylaid the woman and cut off her head while she was returning from the farm on September 6, this year.
According to the police boss, the suspect killed the woman and threw the headless body into Ogbor stream in Amuda and buried the head in the nearby bush.
Dikko also disclosed that both the body and head of the deceased have been recovered by the operatives of the Command.
“The suspect confessed that on 06/ 09/2014, he waylaid and cut off the head of Philomena Nwega, a 45-year-old woman from the same village while she was returning from the farm. After committing the murder, the suspect threw the headless body into Ogbor stream in Amuda and buried the head in a nearby bush”, the Commissioner said.
The police boss added that the suspect would soon be arraigned in court, but pleaded with members of the public to report any suspicious gathering of people to the police to help rid off hoodlums from the society.
Other breakthroughs recorded by the command included the arrest of armed robbery suspects, illegal arms carriers, cultists, and recovery of stolen vehicles.
He also revealed that a medical doctor, Kester Onurah, had been kidnapped, saying that the police were tracking the kidnappers.
He explained that it was not needful to give details on what the command was doing to rescue the doctor.
He said he was kidnapped at No. 1 Eziowere Street Abakliki while he was attending to patients at about 10.pm.
Dikko reiterated the preparedness of the command in making sure that the forth coming general election is rancour-free, as he disclosed that he would soon reach out to all the aspirants to intimate them on how to play according to the rules of the law.
