The inauguration was attended by traditional rulers from the area including the traditional ruler of Anaku-Ogbe Kingdom, Igwe Peter Obalim Oforkansi, Onowu Mike Okoye of Umelum, Ayamelum Local Government Council chairman, Hon. Kachikwelu Obiora, the former Chief Judge of Anambra state, Justice Paul Obidigwe represented by Ekene Muokwudo, Senator Margry Okadigbo represented by Hon. Peter Onuorah, and Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on political Matters, Hon. (Mrs) Ijeoma Obodoeze.
Ayaduno who was represented at the occasion by his kinsman, Engr. Godwin Mgbechi however regretted that the people of the area have suffered long neglect and abandonment by the government and insisted that the forum is geared towards bringing the best in the people.

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Ayamelum Good Governance Forum has been
inaugurated in Anaku, the headquarters of Ayamelum Local Government Area of
Anambra State with a mandate to resolve all lingering crisis hitherto hindering
peaceful coexistence and unity among the 8 communities of the council area.
The
communities are Anaku, Ifite-Ogwari, Igbakwu, Omasi, Omor, Umelum, Umueje
and Umumbo communities.

Victor Echezona, Hon Ozua Okoye among other dignitaries also used the
opportunity to install their patrons, patronesses and ambassadors of peace.
The Chairman of the forum, Mr. Godwin Amuluche in his address said the association was formed to correct and settle the unfortunate disunity and lingering communal crisis among the communities in Ayamelum area, noting that the association will through advocacy route for quality representation and youth empowerment.

“We
are committed to developing pro-people policies, youth and women emancipation
at all levels of the society and to promote and protect equity in government
employment through advocacy, reporting and documentation” adding that the idea
is to promote the spirit of brotherhood among Ayamelum indigenes and to access
individuals seeking for political positions through debate and town hall
meetings.
According to him,” it is high time we dialogue with political aspirants before going into social contract of voting them in. The forum also targets to carry out broad educational enlightenment programme among the people of Ayamelum and Omambala and finally to discourage the syndrome of bourgeoisies determining who gets what in the area”
The Chairman of the Occasion, Surveyor, Romanus Ayaduno in his remarks, identified lack of awareness as the major problem of the people of the area and urged the monarchs, Presidents General and other stakeholders to assist the group in achieving their dream of fostering unity among the people.

their separate speeches, the Local Government area Council Chairman, Hon.
Kachikwelu Obiora, Igwe Peter Obalim Oforkansi, Dubem Obaze and SA to Governor
on Political Matters, Hon Ijeoma Obodoeze lauded the gesture and urged the
group to sustain the tempo of achieving peace and unity in Ayamelum communities
through good governance.

of the event include the investiture of the Publisher, Orient Daily Newspaper,
Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, Senator Margrery Okadigbo, Hon John Icheke and others as the
patrons of the forum as well as inauguration of Local Government and ward
EXCOS of the association and presentation of certificate of merit to members.
