Anambra Traders Lambast APC Over Foiling Attempts Of President Jonathan’s Second Term Bid

In the spirit of good governance, Anambra State based Traders under the auspices of the Amalgamated Traders Association of Nigeria (AMATA), has joined voice with other professional bodies and individuals in the country calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to contest for the 2015 Presidential poll.
AMATA, who extolled Dr. Jonathan’s achievement in office so far, said they were ready to close their shops and mobilize votes for the president at the nooks and crannies of the country.

They lambasted APC saying the party and North put together will never foil President Jonathan's triumphant entry to Aso-Rock twice.

According to Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, the President General of AMATA,who spoke through Chief Chuma Eruchelu, the group’s General Secretary, there is nothing that would prevent Jonathan from returning to Aso-rock in 2015 as a result of his numerous transformation agenda both completed and ongoing.
Chief Ezenwankwo, explained that their support to the president would not be unconnected to the fact that his administration has impacted a lot to Southeasterners who were marginalized since the end of civil war, even as he noted that his political dispensation has uplifted the Akanu  Ibiam from Local to International Airport, revived Onitsha Sea-port, initiated federal road constructions and ongoing Second Niger bridge, thereby boosting socio-economic activities all over Nigeria and beyond.
Also speaking, Mrs. Nkechi Okpala, the Onitsha Zonal Secretary of AMATA and Chairlady of Ochanja Central Market, while disclosing that the marketers had earlier shut-down their means of livelihood in order to participate on the continuous voters’ registration and issuance of permanent cards in the state, averred that AMATA is currently assisting the government in sensitization of the masses to that effect, “because voters card is their right to vote and be voted for.”

This is even as the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state endorsed Jonathan’s re-election in a well-attended event organized by its sponsored Non-Governmental Organization, Join Jonathan Journey (JJJ), at Awka.
