The
Acting Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has endorsed the posting of
eight Deputy Inspectors General of Police and 28 Assistant Inspectors General
of Police to various departments, Zonal Commands and Formations.
A statement on Saturday by the Force
Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the postings were with
immediate effect.
Some of the DIGs whose postings were
released included Dan’Azumi Job Doma, who is the Force’s number two man and
designated as the second-in-command at the Force Headquarters, Abuja; Hilary
Opara, who is to oversee the Department of Finance and Administration; Sotonye
Leroy Wakama, who will supervise the Department of Operations; and Mamman
Ibrahim Tsafe, who is in charge of Logistics and Supply.
The others DIGs are Solomon Erase –
Department of Criminal Investigation; Saliu Argungu Hashimu, Department of
Training; Kakwe Christopher Katso, Department of Research and Planning; and
David Omojola, who is in charge of the Department of Information and
Communication Technology.
For the AIGs, Sule Mamman is to
serve as Force Secretary; Ballah Nasarawa to oversee Force Intelligence Bureau;
Kalafite Helen Adeyemi will be going to the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau
state as Commandant; Adisa Baba Bolanta will head the Police Academy, Kano as
Commandant; Tambari Muhammed is in charge of Zone 1; Zone 2 will be headed by
Umaru Manko, the present Commissioner of Police in Lagos State; while Mohammed
Jinjiri Abubakar heads Zone 3, Yola.
AIG Adeola Adeleke Adeniji will
oversee Zone 4 in Yola, Adamawa State; Musa Abdulsalam Daura goes to Zone 5,
Benin City, Edo State; Mark Adamu Idakwo heads to Calabar, Cross River State to
oversee Zone 6; Joseph Mbu will stay in Abuja, where he is at present the
Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory Command, to head Zone
7; and Christopher Terhrem Dega will oversee Zone 8, with headquarters in
Lokoja, Kogi State.
Other AIGs posted included Usman
Akila Gwarry who will head Zone 9 in Umuahia, Abia State; Bala Hassan, the
Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State will move up to occupy the headship of
Zone 10, with base in Sokoto; Ambrose Aisabor is to head Zone 11 in Osogbo,
Osun State; Mohammed Gana is in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi; and Adewale Adeniji
is to oversee the Maritime Police at the FHQ in Abuja.
AIG Edgar Tam Nanakumo is in charge
of the Force Animal Branch; Sabo Ringim Ibrahim heads Border Patrol at the FHQ;
Chintua Amajor-Onu oversees Investments at the FHQ; Lawal Tanko is in charge of
Federal Operations; Felix Osita Uyanna is the head of the Police Mobile Force
at the FHQ; while Joel Kayode Theophilus heads the Force Communications at the
FHQ.
The remaining postings for the AIGs
are Ibrahim Maishanu, who is in charge of Information Technology at the FHQ;
Godfrey Okeke, who is to supervise Research and Planning at the FHQ; Yahaya
Garba Ardo as the head of Counter Terrorism Unit at the FHQ; Wilfred Eje Obute
heads Armament at FHQ; and A. J. Abakasanga will be in charge of the Special
Protection Unit at the FHQ.
Ojukwu said Abba charged the
newly-posted officers to to bring their experience to bear on their new
postings.
Abba equally urged the public to
partner closely with the force in its determination to ensure improved safety
and security of our country.
