Fraudsters Invade Unizik, Use Post JAMB To Rake Millions , But University Says It Is At Alert To Catch Up With The Fraudsters if Any

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that thousands of students have been defrauded of millions of naira by agents specialized in hacking computer systems for higher score at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

The cheats used bulk sms to mobile phones of prospective students asking them ,’’ all candidates that wrote the 2014/2015 screening test and have an invalid result should contact the Exams and Record Department on 080330275** for retrieval ‘’. This is one of the numerous sources the fraudsters used.

When some prospective students did contact the number , the person was bold tom transact business with as many of them as possible until this reporter got wind of it and it equally played along.

Although some claimed their scores went up from little above 50 to over 70 and over 80 after paying but refused to disclose their source .

‘When the contact was queried on how to locate his or her base , this was the answer, ’I don’t want to disclose myself to any student as I am a staff in Unizik . I don’t want to lose my job trying to help students.

The person went ahead and gave the account to pay for grades to be upgraded ‘My account number name and account withheld by us  even though the name starts with ‘’A and surname with A’ in  of Fidelity bank , send the teller number and your JAMB REG number ………..

Some of those who paid were very happy to succeed with high score and accusing fingers pointed at security and portal but the University PRO Emma Ojukwu debunked the claims saying it was not possible as the computer based exams were contracted out to the management information system department  and not security, exams and records as well as portal as alleged.

He warned that any such call was fake as they have already swung into investigation to unravel those behind running the commendable examination down.  He said the Prof Ahaneku led Vice Chancellor of Unizik can not tolerate such and therefore such never existed but assured they would investigate further.

And on his face book he wrote this ‘’, The essence of a university is research towards helping society solve problems. This is the direction the new Unizik VC Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, FAS, is headed. Hit the ground running. No time for unnecessary distractions and politicking. To prove this the VC conducted post utme and results were released and uploaded barely 3 hours after the screening test beating even JAMB record.

Also biometric machines were used to avoid impersonation. All the over 61 impersonators caught were detained and already charged to court.
