As the 2015 general elections approach, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has vowed to stop those they dubbed Abuja politicians who come home to pick the party’s ticket and after winning the election, disappear back to Abuja, odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com reports.
Instead, the party said it is ready to go house to house and beg those they believe will not only remember them after the election but also deliver democracy dividend when the time comes.
This was the decision of two different groups within the party on Sunday, which endorsed the National Chairman of the party, Victor Umeh for Anambra Central Senatorial District and former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Dubem Obaze, for Anambra North.
While the Anambra Central Political Forum of the party endorsed Umeh in a well-attended meeting at Njikoka Local Government Area headquarters, Abagana, former local government chairmen in the state desire Obaze as their candidate, and that was expressed through their state co-ordinator, Goddy Eze, in Awka,
Eze said Obaze, having served the state diligently as commissioner when he transformed the local government system, he deserved to be rewarded with the Senatorial seat, more so when it is acknowledged that he cannot disappoint the people.
Eze said Obaze is one person who can create “something out of nothing” and who is a mobilizer and master strategist, it will not be difficult to see how he easily the people’s choice.
According to him, “Obaze is somebody who should be emulated, a home breed and a man who believes that people should be happy while they work.
He said further: “He is a pragmatic person. He initiated all the projects that were executed at the 21 local government areas in the state.”
