Sambo, PDP Campaign Committee Strategize Over Osun Poll

                
odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com reports that the Vice President Namadi Sambo said on Wednesday that the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State would afford the people of the state to have another opportunity to choose their governor.
He said those ruling the state now did not go through an election, adding that the state was known to be a Peoples Democratic Party state.

Sambo, who spoke in Abuja during the strategic meeting of the national campaign committee of the PDP, promised that the August 9 election would be free and fair.
He said President Goodluck Jonathan was happy with the outcome of the governorship election in Ekiti State and charged the leadership and members of the party to do the same thing in Osun Sate by winning the election.
Sambo said, “I want to appreciate all of you for what we did in Ekiti State. The President is happy with what we did in Ekiti State and he wants us to do the same thing by bringing Osun State back to the PDP.
“The state belongs to the PDP and the people who are there now never went through an election.
“Mr. President has assured that there will be free and fair election and we must put back our strength and strategies that Osun State people are given another opportunity to decide their mandate.
“The ruling party comprises of respected elders, traditional rulers, the youth, women and everybody, who would not do anything to cause trouble.
“We are a peaceful party and we are looking forward to have a peaceful election in Osun State and I want to assure you ‎that the mandate that was taken through the back door will come back to PDP as it was seen after the election in Ekiti State.”
Among those who were at the meeting were the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Jelili Adesiyan; Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Jumoke Akinjide; former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Erelu Olusola Obada; Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih; Chief Chief Ebenezer Babatope and Chief Olabode George.
