Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that property worth
millions of naira was destroyed by rain in an attempt by a landlady to
forcefully eject a tenant from her building at Amawbia Awka South local
government area.
odogwuemekaodogwu.com re4ports that the unfortunate incident left the tenant, Mr Stephen Nworie and his family homeless as their property were littered all over the places, with broken pieces of ceiling adorned the two bedroom bungalow, which is now without roof, as the landlady hired thugs and carpenters to destroy the roof.
According to the tenant, Mr. Nwoye, who looked dejected and confused explained that it was very early in the morning, when the landlady came with a group of thugs and carpenters and bounced on him and his family, scattering the property and removing the zinc and destroying the ceiling as well.
Prior to the event according to the tenant, the landlady served him a one month quit notice purported to have issued by a High Court in Awka, following the expiration of the one year rent, he paid on February,2014,on the flimsy excuse that she wanted to renovate the house.
Nworie, explained that all attempts for him to pay for another three months within which he will be looking elsewhere for accommodation, proved abortive; adding that as a contractor, the eight hundred thousand naira given to him by his client to buy materials for the construction of his house, lost in the process.
The tenant further complained that he was held hostage along with the members of his family in the compound by the landlady who padlocked the gate, adding that it was in attempt to call the police that he escaped through the back door.
It was believed according to Nwoye that the woman and her children who perpetuated the act were on the run, while the police are investigating the matter.
Mr. Nworie is therefore making an appeal to the police and public spirited individuals to assist him so as to be able to rehabilitate his family.
