Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that Nnewi Anambra state based Gabros United Football Club, on Thursday 17^th July, 2014 began its renewed effort to escape the clutches of relegation to the premiership circle with a 3-0 defeat against a visiting team, Unicem football club Calabar .

The match which was played at the Gabros mini stadium in Nnewi had the visiting team slammed with a goal at the 14^th minute of the first half by Chukwudi Stephen who plays the attacking position for Gabros fc.

Another goal was scored at the 21^st minute when the No 23 shirt, Stephen Nwiwu from outside the 18yard box beat the Unicem fc defender and hit the net with a beautiful rocket shot.

At the slam of the second goal, the jubilant home fans couldn’t help but start chanting, “Anyi ejebego” meaning we are going.

However, at the start of the second half, the visiting team, Unicem fc, Calabar seemed more gingered to break the score line chain but that was not to be as Gabros boys shielded their post from the unimaginable.

Though heavens opened up with showers of rain at the beginning of the second half, the downpour did not deter the home boys from ending the match at the last 3mins of the match with another swift score by Chukwudi Stephen who played the mid field.

Speaking to News Express at the end of the match, a visibly excited owner of Gabros fc, Mr..... said that the kind of play displayed by the boys shows their eagerness to climb the ladder of success.

He said, “Am not only happy at my boy's display, we played well and won. You could see for yourself, they played better than the visiting team throughout the match. I hail the boys for making me proud and also the coach for doing his homework well. The officiating was good too. With their display today, am optimistic we shall get to the premiership level soon”.

It will be recalled that Gabros fc are on relegation but at the moment, they are second on the table behind 2ic.

Chances are that if they continue in winning their game, their back door levels will change in no time for good.
