odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports exclusively  that there is tension in Anambra state following the warning from the members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), to the Nigeria police and other security agencies today, to stop harassing its members in Anambra  state .

MASSOB warned Police and some security operatives in Anambra State against what they described as insincerity and intimidation on their members.

odogwuemekaodogwu.com , informs that MASSOB’s Director of Information, Awka region Comrade Paul Obidimma Okoye, said that no amount of pressure, harassment or intimidation would stop the movement’s activities from going on I the state.

His words as quoted by odogwuemekaodogwu.com, "We want to raise alarm over the intimidation, harassment and detaining of our members by some security operatives in the state on our members. Must especially our members who are motorcyclists without doing anything wrong, that will warrant such. There is no law that enacted that MASSOB is an illegal group and we are not a violence group.

He further called on the commissioner of police Anambra State, Mr. Usman Gwary to look into the matter and caution his boys to desist from such act as it may lead to violence in the state.

He said: “We do not want bloodshed in Igboland, we do not want violence or any form of crisis. MASSOB members are not criminals and not violent, but we will not want a situation where Police or any security operatives will push us to the wall.”

Also speaking, the Director of Transport (MASSOB) Awka South region, Evangelist Collinus Nome noted that Police police and some security operatives are disturbing their peace in the state.

Evangelist Nome narrated their ordeal saying, "we are tired of indecent reports we receive daily over the intimidation and harassment of our members by Police. We almost cry everyday because of the reports coming to our office. Just yesterday, one of our men was detained by a police officer because he identified himself as a MASSOB member. Right now the man is still at Okpoko Police station, without any reason. When we called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), he said that he don't know that these thing is happening. We told him to release that young man Mr Peter Ogbuewu, whom his wife just delivered newly.

He further said that Chief Arinze Igeani in his thanks giving commissioned 5,000 motorcycles with inscription of Biafran Logo onbehalf of MASSOB leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, and dedicated it to the quick recovering of Chief Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu before he later died.

"Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike commissioned those motorcycles for our members to have something doing and also eat from it, since our members are not being employed in the State government. It is also for Youths Empowerment to continue the struggle.
Uwazuruike purposely did it. But today, we the MASSOB Awka south recorded a statistics, whom Hon. Rob Akanu was the head and we found out that over one thousand five hundred(1,500) motorcycles has been sold auction by security operatives in Anambra, especially Awada Division, Okpoko Division, Fegge Division and Ogidi Division. Even in Awka here, the police has been clamping down our Okada members and seizing their motorcycles".

However, the MASSOB Awka south appealed to the Executive governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano to intervene and avert the crisis. "We want Chief Willie Obiano to intervene and call those people involved in order. Our leader have call us to calm down and wait foe our freedom day, we believe in our freedom day. We didn't believe in violence"

"The entire world knew that we are not Boko Haram. We are going to start petitioning any police officer that clampdown any of our members. Let the police leave us alone, and face Boko Haram. We are also going to embark on a protest if this misfortune continued itself" he concluded.

When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) he said, "I don't want to comment on MASSOB now. But let me cut it short. There is an existing law in Anambra state that says no one should ride Motorcycle after 7pm. It is against the law and all we do is to involve the law, that was enacted by Anambra State House of Assemble. Everybody has been sufficiently sensitized by the law. This is the reason they are mentioning police name. Ask them the time their motorcycles were impounded and you will find out that is after 7pm. And so, what are they talking about?, he asked.
