The
call for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 yesterday got
further boost in Anambra State when the Coordinator of Grassroots Cooperatives
of Nigeria(GSG), Afam Ume-Ezeoke, called for a massive support for him in the
state.
Afam,
is a first cousin to late Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, the erstwhile National
Chairman of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), and Speaker of the House of
Representatives in the second Republic (1979-1983).
In
the meeting with stakeholders and coordinator of GSG in Awka , the Anambra
state capital , Ume-ezeoke (Jnr) said “Jonathan has no alternative as far as
the 2015 general elections are concerned.
He
charged the people of the state to make every possible sacrifice to deliver
Jonathan in their wards and Local Government Areas come the election.
He
used the forum to inaugurate 21 Local Government and 326 ward coordinators of
the organization.
He
said “everybody should be prepared to deliver this project at the Local
Government and ward levels. Jonathan has no alternative as far as the 2015
presidential election is concerned”.
Speaking,
the Director of Operations of GSG in the state. Bright Umekwe stressed
that the performance of each coordinator would determine further recognition
for such officer.
Adding
his voice, a patron of the organization, Chief Uche Okafor, counseled the
meeting to eschew gossips and bickering forge for acommon front, noting
that President Jonathan had had advanced democratic tenets and principles in
the past few .
