Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that
Governor Willie Obiano today inaugurated a eight-man investigative panel to
look into the recent collapse of a four storey-building in Onitsha.
The Terms of Reference (TOR)
of the panel are:
i To determine
the causes of the collapse of the 4-storey building at St Christopher's Church
Premises in Onitsha South Local Government Area on 2 June 2014;
ii To determine
the involvement of relevant professionals in the construction of the
building;
iii. To determine
the nature , quantity and quality of the building materials used in te
construction of the building;
iv. To determine the
Government Agency responsible for the approval of the collapsed building;
v. To ascertain
whether due process was followed in granting approval for the construction of
he building; and
vi. To examine the role of professional bodies
in the construction of the building.
The panel has four weeks to submit
its report and recommendations.
