More Tributes Knock Late Prof Dora Akunyili’s Death From Obaze, Umeh , CD ETC

                          

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that Secretary to the Anambra state Government (SSG), Oseloka H Obaze paying tribute to the late Prof Dora Akunyili said ,"Professor Dora Akunyili was a spirited, courageous and untiring woman with the uncanny guts to speak her mind.  She was an invaluable asset to Nigeria and a role model to many aspiring public servants.

‘’ I had known her for several years, but got to know her better when she served as a member of the  Peter Obi Administration Handover Committee, which I chaired.  Though already ailing at that time, she participated tirelessly, constructively, with visible passion and unrelenting candour.  She will be sorely missed."

odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports further that the National Chairman of  the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh and the Campaign for Democracy (CD), South East zone has lamented the  death of former Minister of Information, Prof. Dora Akunyili, saying it is a great loss to the South East and Nigeria in general.

Reacting  to the development yesterday, Chief Victor Umeh of APGA said it was most unfortunate that our brilliant and great achiever should pass on at a time we needed her most.

Apparently still in shock,  Chief Umeh declared that the party has lost a prominent and valuable human material especially to the women folk

 “I just heard it this morning and am still astounded, it is very -very sad, and unfortunate incident.”, he said  .

The Coordinator of the Campaign for Democracy (CD), South East zone, Dede Uzor Uzor said the news of of our dear daughters’ death came as a shock to me.

Mr Uzor who spoke on telephone yesterday continued, “I have heard the news of  unfortunate death of the academic cum politician who died on Saturday. Death is a necessary end, we miss her dearly, and we pray that God grant her soul  eternal  repose.

“Akunyili as straight forward woman who pursued her duties with great zeal…, she was an  amazon in this democracy as her courage and straight forwardness provided the voice that gave direction at the critical time of the nation’s political journey”, Mr Uzor noted.

When odogwuemekaodogwu.com visited Agulu where Dora is married to Dr Akunyili, the people in the community wore gloomy and stony faces, lamenting that her death has really denied them her love and generosity.

A house wife who called herself Madam Uchenna, declared, ”we will miss her, especially her care for women and the less privileged. May her soul rest in peace”.
