Exclusive: Tension As Enugu Communities Invade Anambra Community, Ebenebe

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports exclusively that two communities in Enugu state Uwani -Umumba and Umuabaka both of Eziagu local government area weekend invaded Ebenebe Community in Anambra state burning a primary school and a Catholic Church.

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com gathered that the Enugu communities burnt Umuogbuefi Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Church Ebenebe before fleeing from counter attack staged by Ebenebe vigilante men.

There was a land dispute for ages between Ebenebe and these two communities before the land dispute resolution of the two states did boundary adjustment and the land belonged to Ebenebe against the wish of the Enugu communities who once in a while invade to destroy things and disappear odogwuemekaodogwu.com gathered further. 

As at press time the community has petitioned Governor Willie Obiano and the state House of Assembly . The House may deliberate on it tomorrow, odogwuemekaodogwu.com gathered. 

Governor Willie Obiano and member representing Awka North , Hon Rebecca Udoji and Chairman of the local government area, Hon Cosmos Okonkwo will visit the scene weekend , odogwuemekaodogwu.com gathered.   

 But confirming the report , Councilor representing Ebenebe Ward 3 / Chief Whip of Awka North Local Government Area , Hon Innocent Maduako said  his village Umuogbuefi was under siege for several hours with Primary school and Church burnt by hoodlums from Ezeagu community.

He had written Governor Willie Obiano , Member Representing Awka North , Hon Rebecca Udoji and Special Adviser on Security , Chief Chikodi Anara and local government Chairman , Hon Cosmos Okonkwo as well as all the security agencies including SSS, Police and others for their intervention before lives are lost.

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that part of his letter read thus: …our community Umuogbuefi in Ebenebe Awka North local government area is under serious security threat as some unknown group of people armed with sophisticated weapons entered our community by the early hours of the night , started burning our primary school and a Catholic Church .

‘’From every indication sir , this is not interstate fight or inter community quarrel. This is an attack because the activities was to set houses  ablaze in the middle of the night and to mount serious threat on the people of the community .

‘’We hereby appeal to the Anambra state Government and all the security agencies to come to our rescue before we lost our lives and more houses are burnt to ashes as our people could not sleep with their two eyes closed . Our appeal is for the interest of peace.. ……’’. 

He said the hoodlums sprinkled fuel on the alter clothes  and on all parts of the Primary school building and the Church to raze them down before our people were attracted when they started shooting  sporadically.
