odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that scores were feared dead this afternoon at the premises of Kano School of Health Technology located along Gida Murtala–B UK Road.
The high calibre improvised explosive device went off aroud 2pm at a time the school is in session.
The blast appeared to come from a parking lot next to the provost’s office of the School of Hygiene, a post-secondary training school, said a teacher who requested anonymity.
Kano police spokesman Magaji Magia confirmed the blast but declined to provide details until he reached the scene.
A Kano resident, Aminu Mohammed, captured the development in his post on Facebook, writing:
“Another terrible and annoying day. A bomb exploded at Kano State School of Hygiene this afternoon. I have called friends who work nearby and none is picking. Some not even going through. This is terribly annoying. May God Almighty’s wrath locate the perpetrators anywhere they are.
“They left their houses this morning. They left their parents. The parents were hoping to reunite with their children later in the day. They had dreams. The parents have expectations. Some cruel bastards have ended all of that, causing many families unbearable pains. Why detonate a bomb to kill fellow human beings? Why detonate bomb to kill innocent school children? This is war against the poor, it has always been. I doubt if any rich man has a child in School of Hygiene. May Allah punish all that is involved in this.”
The explosion bear the imprint of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
