odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that a bomb explosion has occurred at the Kasuwan Kuturu market, in the Mubi area of Adamawa State late today.
The News Agency of Nigeria quotes the Adamawa Commissioner of Police, John Abakasanga, as saying the explosion targeted a police patrol team.
He said there were no reported casualties from the blast.
Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule due to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.
Police and military officials are currently investigating the bombing site.
Similarly, a car bomb exploded at the gate of Emab Plaza close to the popular Banex Plaza in Wuse II in Abuja earlier today killing at least 21 people and injuring several others including 17 already counted. The powerful bomb exploded about 4pm Nigerian time.
Several cars and building were shattered by the explosion.
There has so far been no claims of responsibility for these explosions, which comes amidst a campaign of increasing weakly terror attacks in the North by Boko Haram extremists – the most likely source of the latest outrage. Barely a month after two explosions rocked Nigeria’s capital Abuja, scores of people are again feared dead in Emab Plaza in another explosion.
At the moment, the scene of the blast has been condoned off by security men, including SSS, the Police and the military.
A source said “The blast was so heavy that it shook our plaza. I know many will be affected, but my friends and family members who work at the plaza have confirmed that they are safe.
Wuse 2 is a strategic business area that houses many plazas and clubs in Abuja.
Speaking with popular Abuja event consultant, Yankytech at the scene of the blast, he said his shop and staff were safe, but many people died in the blast. He said ” you can see obviously that casualty figure is high. There is no way a blast could go off at Banex that there won’t be casualty. What we are waiting for now is to confirm casualty figure.
Wale Akanni said, “the evil people have struck again. Penetrating into the heart of Abuja, the popular Wuse 2 is something we cannot really imagine.
Chioma ononiwu, the owner of Red Polish also said that the sound of the blast sent shop owners at her Plaza which is few kilometres away from Baanex running helter skelter. She said “the blast was very heavy, and definitely a bomb''.
