Operation Clear Anambra Gutters Takes Off , Even As Chinwuba Writes In Support

odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that Anambra state gutters have been filled up based on activities of traders and residents who stock pile it once it rains. The residents wanted the flood water to do the sanitation for them and unfortunately at a point the flood channel would be blocked with the household dirty poured inside the gutters.

The flood finds their way on the tarred roads and with time got damaged and erosion catches up from there.

Anambra state waste management board led by Njideka Oraedum has been doing her best to clean up the state despite some controversies she entered into last time but goodness God she tackled it excellently with the assistance of the state media managers.

Oraedum is everywhere working assiduously with her lieutenants at Nnewi and Onitsha.

And next week Saturday 28 is another clean up for her and her workers as well as all the good people of Anambra state. She needs co-operation not attack but she should partner the media no matter her views about them to actualize her dreams.  

But a concerned citizen and SSA Environment Phil Chinwuba has a message which runs thus,’’I have a duty to bring to your notice the uphill task of cleaning up our state--Anambra. I am very mindful that some people would try to discourage our commitment and play local and selfish politics with it.

‘’This state has not witnessed environmental clean up for a very long many years before now and the tasks are very enormous. The photo of the ally-way on Dike Street Awka has not been clean up for the last 37 yrs. This corner has also witnessed the abandonment of babies, of which three were today adult women married with children.

‘’Our gutters have become dumping grounds for market women and food sellers. From Onitsha to Nnewi and all over the state, the story is the same but there is no room for compliant and we are here to work.

‘’The battle is not going to be easy and old habits are hard to drop. While we are not claiming total victory for lawlessness, but we are confident that we shall march on to bequeath Anambra State with a cleaner street.
