An easyJet aircraft "landed normally" in the Isle of Man after being "hit by lightning" during a flight from London, the airline has confirmed.

It happened on Monday's flight EZY885 between Gatwick airport and Ronaldsway airport on the island.
An airline spokesman said the aircraft was equipped to withstand lightning and safety was not compromised.
"The safety and wellbeing of easyJet's passengers and crew is always our highest priority," he added.
A series of safety checks took place after the incident which, the airline said, resulted in a four-hour delay to a subsequent flight.
