Ngige APC Wishes Prof Dora Akunyili Quick Recovery, Hails Awka For Egwu Imo Awka Festival

 

 COMMUNIQUE OF ANAMBRA APC STATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (SEC) NO 004 ,HELD
ON WEDNESDAY MAY 21, 2014 IN APC STATE SECRETARIAT AWKA.

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held
its fourth meeting yesterday, May 21, 2014 in Awka.
The meeting presided over by the State Chairman of the party Barr.
Emeka Ibe was held in the State Secretariat of the party at The Glass
House, 338 Ziks Avenue Awka, and beginning at 2pm and was attend by 52
out of 57l members of the State Executive Committee, having received
four apologies.

The meeting resolved as follows:

1- To commend and hereby commend the National Executive Committee
(NEC) of our great party for upholding the Congresses held in the
Anambra State chapter of the party on 8th April,16th April and 26th
April 2014 for the election of 326 Ward Executives 21 Local Government
Executives and one state Executive led by Barr. Emeka Ibe respectively.

2- To congratulate and hereby congratulate the leader of the party in
Anambra State , Senator Chris Ngige, 3rd elected Governor of Anambra
State (2003-2006) and senator representing Anambra Central,
Gubernatorial Candidate of APC in the failed gubernatorial elections
of November 2013 for the confidence placed on him by the NEC, in his
appointment as the Secretary of the APC National Convention holding in
Abuja on 13th -14th June 2014’

3- To reaffirm that there is no fictionalization within the APC in
Anambra State and ask all members of great party, irrespective of
internal affiliation to remain steadfast, and loyal to the values that
stand the party out from others in the state and prepare for the
remaining part of the struggle to free Anambra from the status of
having its governors chosen from Abuja and elsewhere outside the state
through ways and means that subjugate their electoral franchise.

4- To fast-track the process of resolutions and reconciliations of all
emerging issues and conflicts arising from the concluded congresses
and any other matter contingent on the smooth rung of the party before
the inauguration of the confirmed executive members.

5- To work towards the formal inauguration of the elected APC
executives in the State, starting from the State officials on Saturday
May 31, 2014.

6- To confer a hero’s status on Late Mr. Emmanuel Ifeanychukwu Okafor
( Okaa America) , who died in active service as Interim Ward Chairman
of APC in Enugwu Agidi Ward 2,while working for the victory of the
party in the failed elections of November 2013,to send a high-powered
delegation of the party to his burial Enugwu-Agidi today-May 22, 2014,
and to immortalize his name after the funeral.

7- To reaffirm the party’s stand on the illegality and immorality of
the government in Anambra State demolishing properties belonging to
suspects who have not been found guilty of any offence by a court of
competent jurisdiction.

8- To demand the federal Government of Nigeria to do everything within
its powers to return the 223 girls kidnapped by militant insurgents in
North East Nigeria to their families without further delay.

9- To implore the judiciary to tow the path of moral rectitude to the
exclusion of all other paths that would pervert justice on all matters
pending before the various courts in the nation which hold out
influence on the democratic growth of the Nigeria ,and any part of it
thereof.

10- To wish a speedy recovery to Prof Dora Akunyili who is receiving
treatment over an ailment in far way India and hope that she would
return to her family and Anambra State in no distant time.

11- the meeting urged all Anambra citizens to rise in demand
for the status of the state’s finance which is now the greatest secret
kept between two governments to the exclusion of the people and to
look towards APC for any matter dealing with the truth.

12- Finally, the meeting resolved to send and hereby sends a message
of goodwill to Igwe Gibson Nwosu (Eze Uzu) and
the entire 33 villages of Awka on the momentous occasion of this year
Imo Oka Festival and to commend the town for keeping the ceremonies
hilarious entertaining and injury-free so far.
