The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor  has assured president GoodLuck Jonathan that the abducted Chibok schoolgirls will be released soon as the Catholic Church was in fervent prayers and supplications to God on-behalf of the girls.

The Bishop also urged the president not to despair in these trying times as he would be vindicated in the end and rule the country irrespective of the antagonism of the Boko Haram insurgents.

The Catholic Prelate made this known to journalists at St.Patrick Cathedral, Awka on the occasion of the 2014 Life Membership Elevation Ceremony and Fund raising for Re-Roofing of Cana House Event Complex which started con-celebrated Eucharistic Holy Mass  during which he initiated 127 special committee, otherwise known as Life Members of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Awka Diocese.

The Bishop said fasting and prayers were on-going to ensure that the Chibok schoolgirls re-gained freedom from their abductors. According to him, they were trying to frustrate Nigerians but God would not allow it stressing that the actions of Boko Haram was political and that they were intent to frustrate the government of president GoodLuck Jonathan but he state that Church were praying fervently for him not to despair but strive on with tenacity of faith as Boko Haram captured the girls to destabilize and disorganize the president to make him loose sight and focus of his programmes and policies for the nation.

Speaking in an interview shortly after the event the Awka diocesan the President of Life Members   Mrs. Virgy Okoli said that the insurgents would be fished out and punished. She maintained that Boko Haram is not from Nigeria, that they are from the Arab countries and they want to subdue Nigeria and make it a ungovernable country which according to her was not proper and that their offer cannot be accepted by Nigerians adding that the president of the senate Dr. David Mark had mentioned that Boko Haram request cannot be granted. She was also of the opinion that there were people in the country solidly behind the activities of Boko Haram but God will fish them out soon.

In their separate speeches the chairman elevation committee and deputy Director Catholic Women Organization Awka Diocese and organizer of Awka Deanary 1 CWO and Life Member of CWO Awka Diocese Lady Ngozi Okoye while speaking on Chibok abduction, told journalists that with prayers and supplications to God, the girls would be released soon. They emphasized that God should touch the hearts of Boko Haram members so that they would be remorseful and repentant and release the innocent schoolgirls they kidnapped stressing that very soon the girls would be found .  The duo however consoled the parents and families of the abducted teenage girls adding that they should take courage as their children return to them soon .

The two Women leaders, therefore advised mothers to go on their kneels  to pray fervently without seizing for the betterment of the entire nation while further admonishing the president not to be deterred by distractions from Boko Haram and its sponsors as the insurgents were putting his faith in God to test ,even though there was no way he would get discouraged in spite of threats from the insurgents. They also applauded the federal government for seeking the support of the international community in the search for the girls in captivity emphasizing that in the case of Sadam Hussein who was caught where he did not expect that people would trail him to his hideout, that the  same fate would befall on the captors of the Chibok schoolgirls as there were signs that the girls would be released soon .
