Police Man Rapes 13 Years Old Girl In Anambra; Impounds Escorts With Sirens Of Unauthorized People

                       

                                     

                     

There was apprehension in Anambra state following the rape of a 13 years old girl (names withheld) at Ukpor by a police Sergeant (Names with held). The girl is the daughter of a popular pastor in Ukpor.

She is now pregnant hence the bubble burst. She was quoted as saying that the police man ordered her not to tell anybody or be killed. She kept it to herself until she missed her monthly menses and complained to her mother who after thorough probe led to her confession.

The police man initially denied the allegation and was supported by the DPO Nnewi South Ukpor Ndidiamaka Oguamalam. That made the parents to write a petition to the Human Rights group and the Commissioner of Police.

Suddenly the Police man accepted to be responsible and agreed to take care of the girl till she delivers by giving the family N20,000 monthly but the father , a Pastor was demanding N300,000 at once to enable them take care of the girl till delivery.

The Nation leant the police man ordered the girl at gun point to have sex with her on her way back from school and had carnal knowledge of her but the suspect said it was on a cordial agreement and never by force.

But the approach of the Divisional Police Officer, Nnewi-South, Nigerian Police Anambra state command , Ndidiamaka Oguamalam over the rape case was something else as she denied knowledge of that initially when contacted.

She however later directed this reporter to the PPRO , Emeka Chukwuemeka for proper briefing as  she has transferred the case of rape she has to Awka state CID.

Oguamalam said: ‘’I don’t have such case here. Go to the PPRO, I am investigating the case here  The rape case I have I have transferred to the State CID Awka . Let them go to the CP or the PPRO because I am not authorized to speak with you.

But when contacted the PPRO, DSP Emeka Chukwuemeka confirmed the command got such report but said investigations are ongoing to determine the level of culpability of the said officer as the CP , Usman Gwary does not tolerate any kind of mess up by his officers and rank and file.

‘’the matter is under investigation and I will brief you later’’, he concluded.

A concerned citizen and managing Director of Zenith Cyber Café, Chris Okoye was livid on hearing that a middle aged police officer raped a 13 years old girl and a pastors daughter for that matter.

Okoye said: ‘It was outrageous and condemnable if truly the hand of the police man is there because the girl is still an underage and no sane man should say she had sex with her by her own consent. He said the act was unbecoming of a police officer, urging Usman Gwary to look into that report as it is on record he does not tolerate nonsense from his men.

Meanwhile investigations by the Nation at the Police station revealed that the police  confirmed that there was pregnancy resulting from carnal knowledge between the policeman and the girl with her consent and that the pregnancy did not occur in just one sexual encounter as they had been friends for long.

They were worried because of the age of the girl but said investigations are still on going to find out the true position of things even though the Pastor father of the girl who initially reported the matter does not want the case prosecuted any more for reasons best known to him probably to avoid exposing the evil policeman also exposing her daughter who is her partner in the case.

The PPRO Chukwuemeka said, police as well has recovered more arms and ammunition from the arm dealer, Mr Alphonsus Ngwu from Ugwuoba including 241 rounds of G3/Lar; 20 rounds of K-2 ammunition; 50 rounds of AK47 ammunition and 3 Pump Action guns.

In another development, the promise to Governor Willie Obiano that the state would be sanitized of siren harassment by Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abbubakar is yielding fruits.

Abbubakar had directed that DIG, E Department , Jonathan Johnson during Governor Willie Obiano’s first security summit in Anambra when stakeholders raised the alarm on the incessant harassment by wealthy Anambra men and women using escorts with sirens even when they were not authorized to use that.  

Already, tens of vehicles have been impounded by the special team by the Deputy Inspector General of Police who relocated to Anambra state since last week Monday to perfect the IG’s instruction to impound all such vehicles flouting the rules and regulations guiding use of sirens by unauthorized persons.

When contacted the PPRO , DSP Emeka Chukwuemeka confirmed that so many vehicles have been impounded but could not give details of how many vehicles impounded, adding that operation is ongoing until sanity is restored.
