National Coalition For Justice And Equity Commends National Conference Delegates On Additional State

                                     

A group National Coalition for Justice and Equity yesterday lauded the ongoing National Conference committee for recommending the creation of one additional state for the South-East to make the zone be at par with other zones.

  

In a statement signed by the Chairman ,Board of Trustees of the group, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, the group called for the creation of more council areas in the South-East noting that these has been the constant cry of marginalization of the people of the South-East zone.

Ezekwueme, the Anambra State Chairman of the Campaign for Democracy (CD) in his words said: ``We appeal to other committees to emulate the selflessness, magnanimity, maturity and patriotism displayed by the political restructuring committee.

``They should as well ensure its endorsement at the plenary of the full house.

``It will be recalled that National Coalition for Justice and Equity has been in the vanguard for the agitation for the creation of more states for the people of the South-East.

``As well as the election of President of Igbo extraction at the end of President Jonathan’s tenure,’’ it said.

The group called on President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint ministers from Anambra State to replace former Information and Aviation Ministers, Prof. Dora Akunyili and Princess Stella Oduah respectively.

On Anambra, the statement extolled Governor Willie Obiano for his wisdom in tackling security challenge of Anambra head-long, adding that the Joint Security Taskforce has reduced the incidences of kidnapping, daylight armed robbery, extortion, exploitation and intimidation of residents of the state by hoodlums and renegades masquerading under different names.

He said: ``Anambra people are happy and satisfied by your security performance so far especially as criminals and criminal activities had been put under check.

``Obiano’s administration within few weeks have restored people’s hope and trust in government’s ability to restore sanity and conducive environment for both local and foreign investors’’.
