Abuja Bomb Blast: NBA Demands Water Tight Security Across The Country

                                     

The Ihiala branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Anambra State yesterday urged the Federal Government to beef up security across the country particularly public places.


Reacting to the Abuja bomb blast, Chairman of the NBA Ihiala Branch, Emmanuel Egbunonu, said that if Abuja could be attacked by the Boko Haram insurgents, that it means nowhere is safe in the country.

In his words: “the way it is going now very soon Nigeria will be like Syria. President Goodluck Jonathan should find a way of dialoguing with their leaders aimed at resolving the crisis. He should intensify efforts to curtail terrorism in the country’’.

Egbunonu said that the sect should also be rehabilitated to enable them feel belonged and become good citizens instead of taking up arms as a result of ignorance, recalling that the Niger Delta militants were granted amnesty stating, “today they have felt belonged in the society”.

He reiterated the need for Boko Haram and other ethnic militants to have a round table discussion with the federal government aimed that resolving whatever problem stating that killings and destructions by the terrorists would not solve the problem.

On the National Conference he said that it was a step in the right direction as it would create a forum for interactions thereby helping each ethnic nationality and group to air their view with the aim of living in peace and move the country forward.

Chief Egbuonu described Nigeria as a great country endowed with human and natural resources stressing that the problem is on how to harmonize the resources for betterment of the people.

He expressed satisfaction that with time Nigeria would be a good place to live in adding that Rome was not built in a day.
