The people of Ogbaru in Anambra State
under the auspices of Coalition for the Advancement of Ogbaru Interest and
Development (CAOID) have expressed confidence in Governor Willie Obiano's
administration, saying that the State is to witness uncommon
accelerated development that is phenomenal under the new leadership.
Speaking after an enlarged meeting of the body in Atani, headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government Area yesterday, President of the coalition, Comrade Arinzechukwu Awogu said that Governor Willie Obiano could not have come to the people of Anambra at a better time.
While taking a holistic look at the track records of Dr Obiano as a technocrat, coming from the core corporate world, Comrade Awogu reasoned that the likes of Obiano were hard to come by given the turbulent nature of today’s political environment. He described the Governor as an embodiment of radical and dynamic change that would happen to Anambra.
"Having understudied Governor Willie Obiano from his days at Texaco Nigeria Plc as Lead Accountant, specializing in Bunkering, Lube-blending and Refinery Audits to when he became Chief Internal Auditor at Texaco and looking at his unparalleled content of character that is ever consistent we conclude that Anambra state in days to come will be an oasis in the desert under Obiano’s watch,"Awogu posited.
Awogu used the opportunity to thank Obiano for appointing two illustrious sons of Ogbaru community, Mr Oseloka Obaze and Mr Paul Ojinnaka Nwosu as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Senior Special Assistant (SSA), respectively adding that Ogbaru people hadcontinued to produce quality materials for the services of the State and affirmed that the two appointees would discharge their duties creditably well. He particularly poured encomium on Mr Paul Ojinnaka Nwosu whom he described as a perfect gentleman and an epitome of intellectual proficiency, whose wealth of experience and managerial skills, he said, would be brought to the fore as he took charge of an office that was strategic and very key to the public perception and the overall image of the administration. Though a new office that did not exist in the past administrations of the state, Comrade Awogu believed that the office was established by Governor Obiano to deepen and enrich the
channels of communication between the office of the Governor and the Anambra citizenry and to primarily engage Anambra people and instil
a sense of belongingof Obiano's government.
" Infact to ex-tray the portfolio simply; Mr. Paul Ojinnaka Nwosu is the image maker of this administration and the face of the Governor and thus will be exceptionally proficient in discharging the task of the new office,"Comrade Awogu noted.
While eulogizing the contributions of Ogbaru sons and daughters in the service of the State, Awogu insisted that the rest of Anambra people would not forget in a hurry the contributions of one of their sons, Hon. Dubem Obaze, who as the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs in the absence of elected local council executives was able to stabilize and co-ordinated the local council administration vis-a-vis the traditional institutions in the State which ensured that the developmental efforts of the immediate past administration of Governor Peter Obi was successfully executed at the grassroots level. He also noted what he described as the unique and exceptional contributions of Mr. Oseloka Obaze who after serving as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) under Chief Peter Obi's administration was retained by Dr Obiano which he said pointed to the fact that his service under Chief Obi was with a laudable difference.
Awogu observed that Anambra the State had witnessed a great deal of stability and progress owing to the cordial relationship existing between the executive and legislative arms of government in a couple of years ago which he attributed to the political sagacity and leadership opulence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Princess Chinwe Nwebili, a great daughter of Ogbaru, adding that such level of stability and cordiality would continue as the Speaker had promised, to engender under Dr Obiano led executive to enable him run a rancor free government.
