Governor Willy Obiano yesterday made
his first appointments with Mr Oseloka Obaze retained as the Secretary to
the State Government.
Those appointed by the new governor
on Tuesday were Prof Joseph Asike as Chief of Staff, Mr Willy Nwaokoye as
Principal Secretary to the governor.
The oaths of allegiance and oaths office were administered by the solicitor General of the State Mrs Emeke Ekwue to the three new and first appointees of the governor in his office.
The appointments were announced
after the first state Executive Council Meeting of the new Governor with the
old commissioners in line with the continuity spirit.
In his remarks, Obiano acknowledged that they were his first appointments, expressing confidence that the appointees were capable hands who have done well in their private careers and would carry out their tasks dutifully.
Obiano said: "The task ahead is huge, we need the best of hands and I believe they will deliver.
Obaze on behalf of others thanked the governor for the honour, saying that they would work to meet the expectations of the governor to meet the challenges of governance in the state.
