Bizarre :14 Years Old Girl Gang Raped At Matchete Point By Church Security Guards In Anambra

There was confusion and tension yesterday in Nkpor over gang raping of a 14 years old girl  , Little Miss Ujunwa Nwolisa by three security operatives attached to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Nkpor, Idemmili North local government area, Anambra state.

Ujunwa went to fetch firewood in company of two other under aged boys at the vast land of Our Lady’s Church Nkpor premises before she was reportedly raped  at machete point.

           The Anambra Police Command confirmed the gang rape report saying a suspect has already being arrested while efforts are on to arrest other gang members of the security men that raped the innocent and harmless girl.

Police spokesman, PPRO Emeka Chukwuemeka , a CSP said investigations are ongoing and once investigations are concluded the suspects would be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ogidi Division, Mr Abubakar Isa also confirmed the incident and that one of the suspects was arrested by the local vigilance group in charge of Isingwu road, where Nwolisa family resides and handed over to the Ogidi police station.

The girl amidst sobs narrated her ordeal to newsmen saying they were gathering firewood and picking cashew fruits that fell on the ground inside the church compound when three security operatives of the church emerged from nowhere and accused them of plucking the fruits. They denied the allegation insisting that that they only took the ones that fell from the tree.

The girl spoke in local dialect ‘Igbo language’ ,‘’The security men rather than beat us or punish us if they were not convinced of our explanations or even collect the fruits from us rather ordered the two boys that came with me to run out of the premises.

‘’The boys ran away and I was led to a lonely corner of the compound with a machete and they ordered me to remove my clothes. I refused but they insisted and forced me to do so with Machete. They did all kinds of rubbish with my breast and my private part. They took turn in forcing their way into my private part after one after the other. Their leader forced his way into me first despite my tears and cries to let me be because it was so painful.

‘’After they finished with me , one of them was asked to see off the compound and as we were going out , he held me tight trying to drag me into another hidden place to start all over to have sex with me but I mustered the last courage in me and ran away. He did not pursue me to avoid attracting people.

The under aged boys went straight to the parents of the girl to report what they saw. The parents mobilized immediately to start a search for the girl but the security men have already had their turns as they met the girl on her way going back home amidst tears and pains.

They raised the alarm attracting sympathizers and local vigilante leading to the arrest of one of the three security men at the church while the two others disappeared.

Reacting, the parents of the girl, Mr and Mrs Nzeyi Cheta Nwolisa, demanded that the case be charged to court stating that the police should ensure the immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspects.                                      

But, the grand mother to the victim, Mother Kessiah  Nwolisa informed that she took the girl to the hospital for confirmation and tests as well as treatment . She appealed that the suspects should be made to face the wrath of the law and the family compensated.
