2015: APC can't stop Jonathan-------APGA Chieftain

A former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Prince Ifeanyi Ezeabasili has dismissed the defection of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to the APC as a mere threat to President Goodluck Jonathan to run for a second tenure as he blasted members of the National Assembly for blocking passage of the 2014 budget.

Prince Ezeabasili took his stand yesterday at Isuofia ward when he defected with hundreds of his followers from the APC to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), after careful consultations, according to him. The defected PDP members to APC, he further assured, would in the same manner return to the PDP and other viable political parties including the APGA, adding that President Jonathan would still run his second tenure from 2015 "no matter tne odds."

Ezeabasili who is an Anambra State House of Assembly hopeful come 2015 to represent Aguata Constituency 11 said he joined the APGA because he was impressed with the achievements of the out-going Governor, Mr Peter Obi. He said he had looked round and came to the conclusion that no other party could lead the Igbo to the Promised Land except the APGA.

On the activities of the National Assembly members over non passage of the 2014 national budget, Ezeabasili said the action was condemnable accusing those working against passage of the budget as enemies of the nation "and we are not surprised because some of them are not there with the mandate of their people. Some rigged themselves into the House. And what they are doing will affect the nation's economy negatively."

Receiving the new member of the APGA with his supporters, Isuofia ward APGA chairman, Hon Okeke Chukwuemeka Anthony said that if all the Igbo would like to do the wish of the late APGA national leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu every Igbo politician would belong to the party.

Hon Anthony said the Igbo would only be heard at the centre if they could come together and join a party that would propagate their aspirations with the Igbo philosophy of onye aghala nwanne ya (be your brother's keeper).
