The Peoples Club
of Nigeria said it has concluded plans to build a world class Dialysis centre
in the commercial city of Onitsha for the purposes of taking care of the health
needs of the people especially the less privileged.
During the 2013
Annual General Meeting, AGM of the club, new executives were also elected to
pilot the affairs of the club for the next three years with Chief Joe Ilonze
emerging the new World President of the club.
The newly
elected World President of Peoples Club of Nigeria, Chief Joe Ilonze while
addressing newsmen shortly after his election disclosed that the club shall
also hire a Professor of Medicine who will be rendering free health services to
the indigent persons in the society.
“We are
committed to helping the less privilege to alleviate their sufferings, apart
from the fact that Peoples Club fosters unity, peace and brotherhood amongst
its members, we have also concluded plans to build a Dialysis centre here in
our headquarters, hire a medical expert who will be here to render free health
services to our people”
“Peoples Club as
part of its social responsibility programmes also encouraged all our branches
all over the world to build world class bus stops in our name in order to get
the society better equipped and educated as it concerns knowing road signs” he
said.
Chief Ilonze
further said that as the foremost club in the country, they have also concluded
plans to render more selfless services as enshrined in the constitution of the
club, adding that from the moment he was elected the President, part of his
plans included to give scholarship to indigent students to any level.
The President
also disclosed that the club shall also from henceforth improve on the area of
sponsoring indigent students by way of scholarship, adding that they have taken
parameter to know those students that really need the scholarship.
Also
speaking, the Chairman of Peoples Club of Nigeria, Galveston, USA branch, Chief
Emeka Uzowulu commended the process that produced Chief Ilonze as the World
President of the club, describing this year’s Annual General Meeting, (AGM) as
best of its kind.
