Ngige , Okonkwo Fight Dirty Over The Soul Of APC In Anambra

The last is not yet heard as Deputy National Chairman, South, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Annie Okonkwo, yesterday opened up on how Senator Chris Ngige betrayed him and other Party members in Anambra.

Okonkwo asked Nigerians to ignore Monday’s report, sponsored by some members of the party in Anambra State led by Ngige that he has been suspended by the party.
Okonkwo in a statement informed that Senator Chris Ngige and his followers are only misleading the people of the state and the country in general.
He asked , ‘’between me and Ngige who has involved in anti-party activities? “Ngige and his loyalists organized a meeting in Awka on Monday without the consent of the national interim officers of the party and at the end; they said they have suspended me and the state party chairman.

According to him, “Who is supposed to suspend who between me and Ngige? I was elected at the national alongside with other officers. Ngige was only a governorship candidate in Anambra. He is only misleading the people.

“Ngige is a cheat. He doesn’t go where he won’t gain. He is deceiver and a betrayer. He has betrayed a lot of people, he has betrayed the Ubas, he has betrayed even Prof Soludo who sponsored his senatorial election in 2011 and today they are not in good talking term.”

The Senator asked "where was Ngige when they were busy struggling and working hard for APC to be registered. He was busy telling his supporters that they should not mind us, that APC will not be registered.”
Speaking on why the party failed in the election, Okonkwo said: “Ngige was the cause AP’s failure in Anambra governorship election. APC was a party to beat before the primary election. And before the election, we had over 280,000 registered members of which only APC members votes will take him close to winning the election, but when Ngige emerged the flag bearer of the party, he started acting funny.

“I stepped down just to allow peace and unity in the party and also to enable us work together and win the election. But unfortunately, the person I stepped down for decided to sideline most of us and we made several attempts to make him realize that he should carry everybody along but he refused.”
