AN ADDRESS OF WELCOME PRESENTED BY THE CHAIRMAN COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION NAWFIA (COBAN) 2010 SECT, AT THE END OF THE YEAR GET-TOGETHER OF THE ORGANIZATION ON 29^TH DEC. 2013.

My Co-Excos and Members of Coban 2010.

All Protocols duly observed.

It is with paramount reverence and prudence that I accept the honour of your presence to this epoch-making and august gathering, to mark our annual end-of-the-year get-together/reunion.

BRIEF HISTORY OF COBAN 2010

This organization which is today being referred to as comprehensive Secondary School Old Boys Association Nawfia, 2010 sect, or "Coban 2010" for short was instituted by Okoye Abuchi, the incumbent secretary alongside Ugochukwu John and Nwoke Chijioke, the incumbent welfare officer 1 and Provost 1 respectively.

The three worked efficaciously in the spirit of brotherhood to ensure the realization of the dream.

On the 26^th day of June, 2011, the three gathered at the school premises of our alma-mater with some members or brothers. The purpose of the gathering was to get them enlightened on the plan and the efforts taken so far towards the actualization of the dream, the members there accepted the proposal in good fate and pledged their candid and unalloyed support, the three were then ask to take charge of piloting the affairs of the organization pending the conduct of the general election for the executive officers.

On the 4^th day of September, 2011, the Comprehensive secondary school Old Boys Association Nawfia had its first general meeting during which the organization adopted the name "Comprehensive Sec. Sch. Old  Boys Association Nawfia, 2010" and COBAN 2010 as the acronym. "Education for Slogan.

Just like every other organization, comprehensive secondary school old boys association Nawfia 2010 sect, was instituted with the aims of promoting love, co-operation, peace and harmony among members, providing an avenue for meeting and tackling issues of general interest, ensuring the general well-being of members assisting in the development and upliftment of our alma-mater amongst others. Since inception, COBAN 2010 under the administration of the present executives led by Nwilo Echezona has by the grace of God made tremendous feats despite several challenges which have been encountering all this while.

Today, this organization takes yet another giant stride, commemorating its two years of existence as well as its annual end of the year get-together, an avenue for all the members both at home and abroad to re-unite, rejoice, celebrate and thank God.

This is the Lord's doing, it is marvelous m our eyes. In fact COBAN 2010 is and will forever remain grateful to God Almighty for helping us achieve these feats, also for his benevolence and love unto us.

While we strive for excellence. I wish to point out a challenge that stare us in the face, that is the need for us to provide our alma-mater with waste-bins, cartons of chalk and novels to outstanding students and as such appeals for your supports financially, materially and otherwise.

May I use this ample opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the members who have relentlessly been working behind the scene for the progress and well-being of this organization especially Muoghalu Obinna. Nwobu Emeka, Uwayah Augustine. Odumodu Nonso, Oparah ThankGod, to mention but a few.

Also the efforts of the organizing committee, led by Okeke Ugochukwu (Skido) are highly laudable we are sincerely grateful to you for making this gathering a success!

To you all, we say Kudos! and we enjoin you all to keep the flag flying higher.

More so, our profound gratitude goes to the National president, Dr. Oliver Onwughalu, the principal, Sir Emmanuel N. Okechukwu, all the executives and members of the national old boys association of comprehensive sec. sch. Nawfia, as well as the staff and students of comprehensive secondary school Nawfia for their invaluable supports and contributions towards the growth, development and progress of our alma-mater and the old boys association respectively.

To all our members present at this gathering as well as m deeming it fit to grace this occasion.........YOU ARE MOSTLY WELCOME!!!

We pray that God in his endless compassion and love will lead us safely back to our various destinations as well as guide and protect us throughout this yuletide and as we enter the new year……..

ü  For one to be an eligible/ or an active member of this organization, he has to register with the financial secretary Ozobialu Vincent Chukwunwikc (a.k.a KEME) and clear off your debts as follows:

·        Registration fee  =       #200

·        Annual due                   =       #600 (#50 per month)

·        Sticker                 =       #200 (per copy)

ü   Our uniform is SKYE-BLUE (plain) SHIRT and BLAC (plain) TROUSERS with BLACK SHOES.

N/B: The shirt can either be long or short sleeve and will only be worn when the need arises, more so, no other BLUE colour is allowed except SKYE-BLU&VLS, BE PROPERLY GUIDED!!!

ü   Our meeting takes place every January, April, August, November and our end of the yr meeting every December at C.S.S.  Nawfia usually by 2pm………. PLS ALWAYS MAKE URSELF AVAILABLE!!!

ü   It is worthy to note that by this same time next yr. die incumbent executives will formally be handing over to the incoming executives. The election of new executives will be conducted during our general meeting on NOVEMBER next year. By this notice, you are hereby informed to ensure that you as a member is active both financially and otherwise, as members who are owing the organization  cannot be  voted  for,  likewise  habitual  absentees/ or  latecomers.........BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY PLS!!!
